Prayer Works!

22 hours from now, I fly out of the country. I'm a little nervous, but most of me is really excited. This morning I took my last final after only sleeping 2 1/2 hours the night before. My lack of sleep may have been partially due to the 3 shots of espresso I drank at 7:30, but, mostly, I think it was due to my excitement. I know God has big plans for this summer. He's promised that He'll finish the good work He's started in me (Phil 1:6) and this summer is just a continuation of that promise.
I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to go on this trip. It wouldn't be possible without the people who financially supported me. Thank you for your for your generosity.
Two weeks ago, I went to morning prayer on Friday. As we were wrapping up, one of the girls asked me if there was anything they could be praying for me for my trip. I asked them to pray for my health, especially as I was starting malaria pills the following Thursday and they usually cause extremely unpleasant side effects. They spent a few minutes praying for me. That Thursday, I took my first malaria pill and did not experience a single side effect. It was as if I had never taken the pill. To be honest, I hadn't even remembered that they had prayed for me until enough time had passed that I was astonished by the lack of sickness. It was a nice reminder that God even answers the prayers we don't remember praying. I am so excited to see the results of the prayers He answers this summer!
Right now, my greatest need is your prayers. Please pray that I can sleep tonight, that I make it through the airport okay, that I continue to not react to the malaria pills, that arriving in Manila goes smoothly, that unity exists between the team members, and, most of all, that we would be open to hearing and obeying God's voice this summer.
