On the Other Side

I've been home for 1 week now. At first, being back was weird (and it still is sometimes). We were told we would experience reentry shock, and I sure did. A few things have stood out to me over the past week - like the number of questions the immigration officers in the airport asked, the fact that I can see the ground between cars while driving, and the amount of unoccupied space in stores. It also seems weird that I haven't even seen rice in the last week!
So what am I doing now that I'm home? Well, I've been sick for the last few days, so not as much as I was expecting! However, I leave for leadership training with Chi Alpha a week from today and school starts a week after that. In the next week, I'm finishing up paperwork from the trip, hoping to fully recover from this sickness, preparing my mind to start school again, praying for the new students we'll minister to during fall start-up, and praying for direction for next summer.
I know I was only able to share a small glimpse of my trip while it was going on and I'd like to share more, so my plan is to post a short story or lesson I learned every week for a while. As I mentioned before, I'm praying for direction next summer. I'm not sure if I'm going to stay home, take a short-term trip, or serve as an individual for a month or longer overseas. Will you pray with me? Once I've made a decision or know more, I'll keep you updated.
